Some of the places you will visit:

Savoca:

The Bar Vitelli

A stop for a lemon granita at the famous Bar Vitelli is a must when in Savoca! It is located in the center of the little town, on the corner of the main town square from which breathtaking views open across the Sicilian backcountry and to the Ionian sea in the distance. The Bar Vitelli was one of Coppola's favorite spots, and is seen many times throughout the film. It was featured in the motion picture as the place where Michael Corleone asked Apollonia's father to meet his daughter.

Church of Santa Lucia

Your next stop is the Church of Santa Lucia, where the scene of the wedding between Michael and Apollonia was shot. There is a beautiful statue of St. Lucy by Reginaldo d'Agostino inside the church.

Capuchin Monastery

The church and the monastery were built in the 17th century. A strange and awe-inspiring collection of 37 different mummies from the 18th century is on view in the crypt of the church – the mummified bodies of Savoca notables such as lawyers, barons, poets, and doctors in original 18th century clothing.

Forza d'Agrò:

Visit this ancient village of the eastern Sicilian coast. Inhabited since prehistoric times, it has many buildings from the 14th and 15th century, such as the church of the Santissima Trinità (Holy Trinity). From the higher of the two peaks upon which Forza d'Agrò is situated, the remains of an 11th century Norman castle still guard the picturesque town, which you will recognize as the backdrop for Michael and Appollonia's courtship.
