The essence of Tuscany

Enter the heart of real Tuscany, its medieval villages of incomparable charm, and ancient farming tradition that produces wine, cheese, cold cuts and excellent meat renowned and appreciated all over the world. The beauty of the landscape reflects the harmonious relationship between man and nature, fostered through centuries of symbiosis.

Your drive will lead through the hilly expanses of the old vineyards and olive groves which characterize the splendid Chianti territory. Greve in Chianti will be your first stop – enjoy the charm of its historic square flanked by open galleries, the characteristic shops of local artisans, and the local Chianti products.

Your next stop is in Castellina, an ancient hamlet perched on a hill, where you'll have the opportunity to visit a historical wine cellar. Just outside the village, in one of the most famous vineyards of the area, you will be guided through a tasting of different wines of the Chianti area, extra virgin olive oil on Tuscan bread, Vinsanto with locally produced cantuccini cookies, and lavender honey.

A panoramic road will lead to the picturesque village of Monteriggioni, a small medieval jewel still surrounded by its ancient walls.

Further on, you'll enter the unmistakable landscape of the Crete Senesi, a hilly desert territory in stark contrast with the green Val d'Orcia. The Val d'Orcia is UNESCO heritage site, a harmonious landscape of hills dotted with cypresses, interrupted by castles, churches, ancient villages of Etruscan origin and farms that accompany the route of the famous "Via Francigena" (the pilgrimage trail to Rome).

Here, on a historic farm, you will be served a guided lunch-tasting of the renowned Rosso di Montalcino, Brunello, and Super Tuscan wines, as well as a large selection of products of the territory, and a delicious homemade fruit pie. All this is followed by a visit to the cellars and some leisure time to enjoy nature.

Your driver will then take you to the medieval village of Montalcino, surrounded by walls and towers, with the imposing 14th century fortress that offers one of the most beautiful views onto the Val d’Orcia. Montalcino also boasts picturesque narrow streets with dozens of wineries and artisans’ shops selling products of the territory.

Lastly, after a short journey on a panoramic road, you’ll reach Montepulciano, enclosed by fortified walls and perched on a hill 600 meters above sea level between the Val d’Orcia and the Val di Chiana valleys. The town is renowned for its Vino Nobile wine obtained from the surrounding vineyards.

You'll have time to take a walk along the steep streets and elegant squares and admire the splendid Renaissance buildings and churches, as well as for a visit to one of the many wine-cellars of the old town to taste delicious wine.
