A Day in Apulia: Itria Valley Excursion | Weekend in Italy
A day to discover the territory of Central Puglia (Apulia region). Between Bari, Brindisi and Taranto, the Valle d'Itria corresponds to the southern part of the Murge plateau. The Itria Valley is not really a true valley - but rather a karstic lowland located between the towns of Locorotondo, Cisternino and Martina Franca.
You will see the trulli (the characteristic and unique cone-shaped stone huts of the region). The historical farm complexes (“Masseria”) are an imposing presence in the rural landscape. The landscape distinguishes itself by the use of the local stone to build dry-stone walls, and is ablaze with the earth color so typical of southern Puglia, orange-red.
Total refund in case of cancellation up to 15 days prior to the date of your visit . 50% refund in case of cancellation from 14 to 5 days before the visit. No refund is possible for cancellations less than 8 days before the visit and for no shows.
