Bolgheri & Super Tuscans Wine Tasting Tour
Your English speaking driver will pick you up from your accommodation in Florence with your private Mercedes car. Your scenic drive will take you through the Tuscan countryside, southwest to Bolgheri near the Tyrrhenian Sea, in the Upper Maremma region of the province of Livorno.
Your first stop is at the world famous producer Antinori's wine estate, Tenuta dell'Ornellaia, which was created in 1981. The coastal plain is a natural refuge for numerous migratory birds and other protected species. In the midst of all this natural beauty lie the vineyards of Ornellaia.
The Tenuta dell’Ornellaia’s production philosophy is based upon the belief that wines must be the most faithful expression of the territory that produces them. The estate’s unique territory guides all aspects of production - limited quantities to ensure maximum quality, attention to every detail, selective hand harvesting, micro-vinification, and aging.
After the visit, your driver will take you to discover the little gem of Bolgheri, where you will have time to enjoy a walk through the narrow streets and have lunch at a local Enoteca, one of the most popular in Tuscany.
After lunch, you may want to add a visit to a second local producer to discover more about the traditional Bolgheri DOC wines and local flavors (optional). The Argentiera estate, gloriously perched on the hills overlooking the sea, is planted with specialized vines all of which have the appellation DOC Bolgheri. The vines have an average age of 4–5 years and are situated on a plateau at an elevation of 150 to 200 meters above sea level, the highest altitude level in Bolgheri. Argentiera’s vineyards, located only 2 km from the Tyrrhenian Sea, benefit from breezes that provide consistent ventilation to the vines.
At the end of your day, you'll only need to sit back and relax as you enjoy the drive back to Florence.
