Day Tour: Lucca, Pisa, and Wine

This day tour includes a winery visit and Tuscan lunch, as well as visits to the ancient cities of Lucca and Pisa.

Visit a winery near Lucca, explore Lucca with its ancient walls and picturesque historical city center where you'll enjoy a traditional Tuscan lunch and admire the magnificent Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa. A perfect day trip!

The Program:

9:00 am: Departure from your location by private minivan, with English-speaking guide

10:00 am: Visit to the winery Villa Maionchi and wine tasting

11:30 am: Guided visit to Lucca along the old walls

1:00 pm: Lunch at Osteria Baralla in Lucca

3:30 pm: Guided visit to the Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa: Cathedral and Cemetery

6:30 pm: You are back at your location

Lucca, Pisa, and Wine

Your tour begins in the morning: you will be picked up by your own English speaking guide. Sit back and relax as you enjoy the ride out of Florence east towards the Tyrrhenian coast.

Your first stop will be at the the Villa Maionchi winery, a small, family-owned enterprise located near Lucca, where you’ll visit the winery as well as taste the quality wines.

Next, you'll be headed to Lucca, famous for its intact Renaissance-era city walls. Your guide will take you into the heart of town and give you an introduction to this ancient and fascinating place.

Time for lunch! Your program includes a delicious Tuscan lunch at the Osteria Baralla which has been welcoming hungry (and thirsty!) visitors since the 1860s.

After lunch, you'll take the short drive to Pisa, where your guide will take you around the Piazza dei Miracoli, the wide, walled heart of the city, world-famous for being the location of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. You'll visit the Cathedral and the cemetery, which are a part of this UNESCO world-heritage site.

At the end of the day, your driver will take you back to your location.
