Villa Serego Alighieri in Gargagnago di Valpolicella is a must see for lovers of art, history, literature, and fine wine: this Venetian villa has belonged to the direct descendants of Dante Alighieri for almost seven centuries. Dante spent several years of his exile in Verona. After the death of the great poet, his son Pietro took possession Casal dei Ronchi in Gargagnago in 1353. The estate with close to 300 acres -- largely planted with vineyards -- lies in the heart of the historic Valpolicella region near Lake Garda. Today, after twenty generations, the Counts Serego Alighieri, direct descendants of the poet, continue the care of the family estate through activity on the farm, in the vineyards, and forestry.

The Villa, surrounded by vineyards, features an elegant guest house for meetings and corporate events.

Your visit includes the gardens of the villa, the grape drying barn, and the cellar with cherry wood barrels.
