Villa Tiepolo Passi: “Culture and Taste” guided tour and tasting. Group Tickets | Weekend in Italy
Villa Tiepolo Passi, a magnificent example of a post-Palladian Venetian Villa in elegant Venetian Baroque style, is located just outside Treviso, some 40 km/25 miles outside of Venice. The Villa dates from the early 1600s, but reached its current size over the next century at the hand of Ermolao Tiepolo, Procurator of San Marco and Senator of the Venetian Republic. During the 1800s, the Villa, enriched and embellished over the centuries by artists, passed to the Counts Passi de Preposulo, an ancient, illustrious family from Bergamo that still lives there. On the main floor you can admire frescoes from the 17th century by Pietro Antonio Cerva (called “il Bolognese”).
Villa Tiepolo Passi overlooks an elegant Italian garden with fish pond and statuary by Torretto (teacher of Canova), and unfolds in a monumental perspective. The edges of the romantic English park are shaped by mounds, caves and ancient trees. In the private chapel are ceiling frescoes by Giovan Battista Tiepolo Canal and school.
The tour concludes with a wine-tasting accompanied by various delicious bites to eat.
