Originally from Sansepolcro, at the age of 15 Michele Pero first set foot in the darkroom to discover the secrets of black and white photography which still fascinate him today with their soul-enthralling appeal. In 1989 he moved to Florence where he decided that photography would be his life.
Following his career as an advertising photographer in Milan he decided in 1996 to abandon the studio and optical bench to take the road and recount his adventures with his Nikon.
His photos have appeared in all the most important national and foreign newspapers and journals. His photos of the war in Kosovo became a traveling exhibition from 1988 to 1989 stopping at all the major Italian cities before being chosen for a permanent exhibition at the Friedensmuseum in Nuremberg. In 2003 he founded The Darkroom and in 2010 opened the Centro Italiano Photography Department.
All his photo-reportage is presented by Nazca Pictures.
