A Van with a View - The Hills of Florence

Visit the hills surrounding Florence, beloved by the Florentine aristocracy as well as artists and writers of international fame. Sit back and relax in the comfortable mini-van as you enjoy the serenity of the countryside just minutes from the historical city center.

Your experience starts at Piazzale Michelangelo from where you'll not only see stunning views of the city but also some of the hills crowned by the historic towns we’ll visit – such as San Miniato al Monte, Bellosguardo, Arcetri, Pian dei Giullari, Settignano, and Fiesole.

As we move outside the city’s confines, breathtaking landscapes unfold before you – dotted with ancient churches, picturesque olive groves, and rolling vineyards, all the way to Fiesole, northeast of Florence.

Fiesole's first settlements date back to 2,000 BC, but it was the Etruscans who named the thriving village “Faesulea.” Conquered by the Romans and then dominated by the Lombards, Fiesole hosts an important archaeological park and other monuments.

Fiesole is not only the home of historical relics and culture, is also a favorite tourist attraction for the beauty of its surrounding landscape. See the grand summer estates of the powerful Florentine families with their sumptuous gardens. Many artists and writers have stayed in them and found inspiration for their masterworks over the centuries – and you'll understand why, as you experience the charm of the Florentine Hills!
