The exhibition "The spectrum of light," hosted from September 27 to November 30 in the renovated rooms of the Museum of Mural Painting of the Cloister of San Domenico, is dedicated to Paul Jenkins, considered one of the leading painters of the 20th century. For the duration of the exhibition, 64 valuable works on paper and canvas tracing the career of Jenkins from the 1950s to the 1970s, from the most important museums and galleries in the world, as New York MOMA, are exhibited in the halls of San Domenico.
The spaces of the Museum of Mural Painting reopen to the public for this first retrospective after Jenkins' death, after having been closed 16 years for restoration, following the transfer of works of the Civic Museum to the Praetorian Palace Museum.
The exhibition is hosted as part of the project that will lead to a permanent collection to be on display at San Domenico, with works such as Paolo Uccello’s sinopie and rare domestic pottery from the 14th century.
