The hamlet of Fonterutoli, an old bastion of Florence only a few kilometers from Castellina in Chianti, is blessed with an extraordinary view of Siena, which is so close that it is possible to discern the Torre del Mangia and the outline of the Duomo. The wisdom of Mazzei knew how to transform the arid and rocky land of Fonterutoli into a bounty, which adopted diversity into its main style. Since more than six hundred years, the Mazzei family produces unique wines with spirit and passion renewed from generation to generation.At Fonterutoli, as well as at Belguardo (Tuscan coast) and Zisola (Noto, Sicily), resides the same philosophy that aims to promote local vine varieties as an expression of the identity of the region, in respect of diversity and nature, via sustainable agriculture and improvements mindful of the delicate hydro-geologic balance, in order to prevent soil erosion and maximize water reserves in the region. All of this in order to be able to hand the land intact to future generations. The excellence of the wines of Castello di Fonterutoli is renowned worldwide and represents one of the points of reference for the whole Chianti Classico.
The VIP tour is dedicated to all wine passionates who prefer a private guide to visit the cave. The customer can choose a particular time between 10 am to 5 pm and he won't stay with other customers. We welcome guests of all ages on this 90-minute legacy tour that guides guests through the New Winery and Tasting Room, while detailing Mazzei's long history and commitment to quality. For those 18 years and over, we'll taste a selection of the six top wines during the tour. The wines on the list can change depending on the customer preference.

Cancellation Policy
- Once a confirmation code has been assigned to the reservation we can refund the cost of unused tickets minus a service fee (reservation fee and online booking fee) up to 2 business days before the visit.
- No refund is possible for a cancellation less than 48 hours before the visit, and for no-shows.
