Palazzo Branciforte is a baroque palace restored by Gae Aulenti, the famous Italian architect. Located in the heart of Palermo, it houses a "Museum of Sicilian Memory".
Visit Palazzo Branciforte, a sixteenth century building in the heart of Palermo, recently restored by the great Italian architect Gae Aulenti. The Palazzo is an area open to the public where history meets archaeology, modern and contemporary art, with a historical library containing more than 40,000 books, and a place for the great Italian culinary tradition (the Gambero Rosso cooking school). The Palazzo is home to exhibition areas for the important Fondazione Sicilia collections of archaeological artifacts, coins, stamps, tin-glazed pottery (maiolica), sculpture and fresco on panel.
Opening Hours:
> March to October: Tuesday - Sunday from 9:30 am to 7:30 pm
> November to February: Tuesday - Friday from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm, Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 am to 7:30 pm
Last admission 1 hour before closing.
Visit of the Palace: The visit to the Archaeological Collection has no time restrictions unless a guide accompanies the group, in which case the time restriction is every 30 minutes for access. The sections on the main floor (Monte di Santa Rosalia, the Numismatic, Philatelic and Sculpture Collections) can be visited only with a guide every 30 minutes.
Reservations must be made with a minimum of 1-day notice.
